Kids and teens engage with platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and more regularly, all centered around short videos. They’ve become accustomed to absorbing information and learning through these formats. To ensure modern education is impactful, it needs to adapt to this shift to some extent.

Within the academic setting, video production skills can be applied in diverse ways:
- Educators can leverage them to craft film-based educational resources to enhance lessons.
- Students can produce videos as a captivating and innovative way to fulfill project requirements.

The Course Content:
– Scriptwriting based on personal documentation. Preparation of a shooting schedule or storyboard.
Film Production – Stage I. Field or studio sessions, depending on the approach chosen by individual groups for film production. Setting up the shooting plan (arranging lights, cameras, microphones). Participants undertake (choosing one genre per group):
– Television news program consisting of studio presenter introductions, field news reports, live pairs, voiceovers, and street interviews.
– Commercial spots for products and brands.
– Social campaign spots on a chosen topic.
– Stop-motion animated films.
– Event reportages.
– Promotional films.
– Documentary films.
– Narrative studies.
Film Production – Stage II. Continuing the shooting process for each production. After the initial review of materials, adjustments and retakes are made as necessary.
- Editing the recorded footage, covering shots, discussing principles of assembling shots together.
- Color correction, musical illustration, and sound level adjustment.
- Discussion on available formats, export settings, and rendering of edited films.
The grand premiere of the films created by the participants. Discussion of the productions, analysis of mistakes made, and exploration of alternative production possibilities.
Methodology & assessment
The “Video workshops” course is designed to be an immersive and dynamic experience, integrating innovative methodologies to ensure participants actively engage with the content. The course spans a week, with participants delving into three stimulating sessions each day, each lasting 1.5 hours.
