Katarzyna Baca
Academic Director of Spatia Teacher Academy
Responsible for the academic strategy, programme development, trainer network, quality assurance and international partnerships of STA courses.
Katarzyna Baca is the initiator and conceptual creator of Spatia Teacher Academy, an international teacher training initiative dedicated to high-quality Erasmus+ professional development across Europe. She is an international education expert, Erasmus+ strategist and teacher trainer with over 22 years of experience in foreign language education and school development within the European public education sector.
For more than 15 years she has designed and coordinated Erasmus+ KA1 mobility projects for schools and educational authorities, supporting teachers and school leaders in professional growth, innovation and internationalisation. Her work combines pedagogical vision with deep practical knowledge of European funding frameworks, teacher training design and institutional development.
She currently serves as Head Specialist for International Cooperation at the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Częstochowa and as Erasmus+ Accreditation Project Leader for the Municipality of Psary (Poland), overseeing the strategic development of five schools and kindergartens in close cooperation with local authorities.
At Spatia Teacher Academy she leads the academic vision and quality of all training programmes. She designs course concepts aligned with Erasmus+ priorities, develops trainer networks across Europe and maintains long-term partnerships with schools, coordinators and educational organisations. Her approach focuses on meaningful, transferable learning experiences that empower teachers to implement change in their own contexts.
Katarzyna believes that deep learning emerges when challenge is balanced with psychological safety and curiosity. She advocates for creative, human-centred education that strengthens motivation, agency and thinking skills rather than compliance with rigid systems. Her work promotes reflective practice, storytelling, creativity and learner autonomy in schools.
She has held leadership roles including Head of the English Department, Head of International Cooperation, Erasmus+ Project Coordinator and founder of a Professional Learning Community for teachers. She is also a certified matriculation examination examiner and an experienced EU project expert.
Projects she has led have received eTwinning European Quality Labels and Erasmus+ Good Practice recognition. In 2023 her pedagogical and project work was honoured by the European Commission with the European Innovative Teaching Award (EITA).
