“Return to Yourself – Wellbeing Through Connection with Nature” is a Erasmus+ teacher training course in Poland designed for educators who wish to slow down, restore balance, and reconnect with what truly matters in education: presence, relationships, and authentic human connection.
In today’s fast-paced and overstimulating educational environment, teachers often experience stress, overload, and disconnection. This course offers a space to pause, reflect, and rediscover personal and professional meaning through direct experience with nature.
The programme is deeply experiential and grounded in simple, practical activities that can be easily transferred into everyday classroom practice. Participants engage in nature-based learning, creative expression, and reflective processes that support both personal wellbeing and professional growth.

Course Content & Key Themes
🌿 Wellbeing Through Nature
Participants explore the powerful role of nature in supporting mental health, focus, and emotional regulation. Activities are inspired by practices such as forest bathing (shinrin-yoku), sensory awareness, and mindful presence.
🎨 Creativity and Self-Expression
Through activities like stone painting, nature journaling, and intuitive art, teachers discover new ways to express emotions, reflect on experiences, and support students’ creativity.
🧠 Emotional Awareness & Reflection
The course emphasises reflection as a key element of learning. Participants develop tools for self-awareness, emotional regulation, and building meaningful connections in educational environments.
🌍 Inclusion and Accessibility
All activities are designed to be adaptable for students with different abilities, including those with special educational needs, ensuring inclusivity and practical application.
📵 Reducing Digital Overload
An important aspect of the course is learning how to reduce overstimulation and introduce more balanced, mindful approaches to learning that do not rely on technology.
Methodology
The course is based on experiential learning, with a strong focus on practice, reflection, and personal experience rather than theory.
Participants engage in:
- nature-based activities
- creative workshops (e.g. stone painting, journaling)
- forest experiences inspired by shinrin-yoku
- individual and group reflection
- storytelling and sensory exploration
Learning happens through direct experience, making it deeply engaging, memorable, and applicable in real teaching contexts.
Practical Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will:
- create their own set of nature-based classroom activities
- develop tools for supporting student wellbeing
- gain confidence in using creative and reflective methods
- build strategies for calmer and more inclusive learning environments
All outcomes are practical, realistic, and ready to be implemented in school settings.
Assessment & Learning Process
Assessment is continuous and informal, based on:
- active participation
- engagement in activities
- reflection and sharing
- development of practical ideas
Participants document their learning through nature journaling and a shared digital platform (Padlet), where they upload reflections and visual outcomes of their work.
Materials & Resources
All materials are provided during the course, including:
- natural materials (stones, leaves, wood)
- art supplies
- creative tools
Participants only need to bring a mobile phone for documentation.

- handouts
- sample activities
Costs
The 560 EUR fee covers the course tuition, issuing the required Erasmus+ documents, coffee breaks, and a guided tour.
We offer an optional cultural programme in order to provide you with opportunities to explore the wonders of the area. All the details including the destinations and the prices will be sent to the participants two months before the course starts.
