In the multicultural world one does not need to travel to experience the phenomenon of intercultural encounter. It can be an extremely enriching experience, but it requires certain skills. Teachers are the ones who can shape these skills of their students but at the same time they are the ones who should often master and use their intercultural skills every day working in multicultural classrooms.
These hands-on workshops empower teachers to develop and apply intercultural skills in multicultural classrooms, fostering effective communication across cultural lines. Participants will explore different strategies designed to meet the needs of students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The course also introduces creative methods to spark students’ interest in foreign cultures, addressing a gap identified in some educational systems. Teachers will gain practical insights into integrating intercultural communication in their everyday teaching practices.

Practical strategies that can be applied by teachers to integrate, activate and effectively communicate with students of diverse cultural and language background will be presented and practiced.
3. Stereotypes – how to make students aware of how they work
The most intensive learning takes place in childhood and that is the time when we learn most of the stereotypes. It might be impossible to avoid stereotypes, but as long as we realize how they work they are not really harmful. Some simple exercises can be introduce to the teaching practice to make students aware of this problem and help them avoid its negative consequences.
