“Game-Based Learning for Schools and Teachers” is a practical Erasmus+ teacher training course designed for educators who want to increase student engagement, motivation, and active participation through innovative teaching methods.

In modern education, traditional approaches are often not enough to keep students focused and involved. This course introduces game-based learning strategies that transform lessons into interactive and meaningful experiences.

Participants learn how to use games, gamification, and playful learning approaches to support both academic success and student wellbeing.

This Erasmus+ teacher training course on game-based learning aims to equip educators with practical skills to increase student engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes through innovative teaching approaches.

Methodology and Assessment

The Game-Based Learning for Schools and Teachers Erasmus+ course is designed as an immersive, practical, and highly engaging learning experience. The course is led by an experienced trainer with a background in game-based education, role-playing games, and creative teaching, ensuring a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Methodology

Experiential & Embodied Learning, Design-Based Learning (Game Creation Process), Iterative Learning Cycles (Test → Feedback → Improve), Collaborative & Social Learning, Reflective Practice & Transfer, Inclusive & Learner-Centred Approach, Blended Game-Based Learning (Digital & Non-Digital).

  • Game-Based Learning Modules. Structured sessions introduce different gamification techniques and educational games.
  • Learning by Doing. Participants actively engage in hands-on game-based activities, simulations, and workshops.
  • Daily Motivational Game Sessions. Each day begins with energising activities that model how to engage students.
  • Collaborative Learning. Participants work in teams, reflecting the importance of cooperation in education.
  • Simulated Classroom Scenarios. Practical simulations allow teachers to test and apply game-based strategies.
  • Digital Tools and Technologies. Participants explore platforms and tools supporting digital game-based learning.
  • Reflection and Discussion. Group discussions and reflection sessions deepen understanding and support knowledge transfer.

Assessment

Assessment in this Erasmus+ teacher training course is continuous and practice-based.
Participants are evaluated through:

  • active participation and engagement in all activities
  • digital portfolio showcasing implemented game-based strategies
  • peer feedback and collaboration during group work
  • practical demonstrations and simulations
  • final presentation of a game-based learning project

This course follows a Practice-to-Implementation Learning Design approach, ensuring immediate impact and measurable outcomes in participants’ schools.

Certification

Costs

The 560 EUR fee covers the course tuition, issuing the required Erasmus+ documents, coffee breaks, and a guided tour.
We offer an optional cultural programme in order to provide you with opportunities to explore the wonders of the area. All the details including the destinations and the prices will be sent to the participants two months before the course starts.
